this concept design adapts arisophane's classic text, "birds" into a dance-circus theatrical production. the themes within my design explore contemporary political issues of immigration and nationalism. the performance is set in an airport to represent 'cloudcoocooland' as a colonised, 'hostile environment' state, as airports are temporary autonomous zones with their own beurocratic systems.

Piesetarious is characterised as a digital media office worker for government advertising. The mundane nature of his job encourages his search for real power while his imperialist greed is an outgrowth of the government messaging he is trained to produce.
