"They rest in the field at dawn and at dusk. They are the story of the forever young. Midges and mud freckled skin. Together they dance, in wonder, in anarchy and in solace.
We are Tough Boys Dance Collective. We make work that questions what it is to be fundamentally human. In this tale we are looking at the power of youthfulness, using stories from Scottish folklore to play with ideas of collective imagination and the instinctual genderless form. We worked together with our dancers to create a range of solos, duets and group material that live in an otherworldly landscape. We used contemporary dance with influences of hip-hop theatre to create this work, a celebration of the ageless joy of dancing together.
